Typical axles use inboard CV joints that must both operate at an angle, and allow suspension travel; this dual-purpose design limits articulation angle to about 25°, while travel is limited to 1.25" - 1.5", which is inadequate for ATVs and UTVs with lift kits, or long-travel suspension

These axles utilize fixed Rzeppa inner CV joints that allow 45° of articulation, while a slip spline in the axle shaft provides 2" of travel
This helps to prevent disengagement of the inner CV joint from the transaxle when the suspension is at full droop
To accommodate suspension travel, the axles utilize a slip spline that allows the axle to compress and extend 2"
